Family Attractions
Belfast is an amazingly family friendly place. Around the City there are a vast number of things to do and places to go which will keep the entire family entertained, amused and maybe even educated for the duration of their stay with us. Children love investigating, exploring and questioning and W5 (Who, What, Where, When, Why) at the Odyssey is a child’s wonderland.
Once you've managed to drag your children away from W5 why not take them on a city bus tour or take a boat trip around the very spot where Titanic first touched water; and still in the city centre you will find the tour of our newly refurbished City Hall enthralling. Belfast Zoo is located on the slopes of Cavehill to the north of the city so why not take the short trip out to one of the most beautiful zoos in these islands. To the east of the city is a whole wonderland of wildlife and stunning country as you drive towards Portaferry and Exploris Aquarium, on the shores of the Marine Nature Reserve of Strangford Lough.
On the way back to Belfast from Exploris why not stop off at the Wildlife and Wetlands Trust, Castle Espie where the wild world has the power to touch, thrill and inspire. Spend a morning with animals that you can cuddle at Streamvale Open Farm, or investigate the Folk and Transport Museum at Cultra; at Aunt Sandra’s Candy Factory you can watch the hand-crafted candy being made. Just a taster of the attractions that will enthral the family and set faces with a permanent grin.
